Operating as the fictional creative studio ponkt., a design team of four established a holistic corporate identity encompassing print media and web presence. This strategic brand foundation was used to answer a speculative design pitch for the brand World Mobile Radio (WMR). The challenge was met by developing a mobile DAB+ radio ecosystem for a younger target group based on two distinct product concepts. Both designs deliberately limit feature clutter to ensure an extreme physical „Joy of Use.“

corporate
identity
ponkt.
The creative studio embodies a design philosophy that is minimalist, hyper-clean, yet highly unconventional. The branding visualizes this contrast through a strict typographic and geometric ruleset: consistent lowercase lettering, the structural use of a literal period instead of a colon, and an uncompromised focus on functionality. The visual anchor of the entire identity is a single, striking neon-yellow dot (#faff00) that breaks up the otherwise muted, corporate grid. This minimalist color-blocking system was seamlessly applied across all agency assets, including business cards, stationery, folders, an official design contract, and a responsive homepage mockup.

in-ear dots.
Engineered for active mobility, the in-ear dots. feature an ergonomic layout where the central control circle is moved inward, accented by the signature neon-yellow dot for instant visual recognition. The outer shell is detailed with fine tactile ridges to ensure a secure grip, utilizing an asymmetrical control interface: the left dot is operated via a physical, mechanical tactile wheel, while the right dot remains completely smooth and sleek. The concept is completed by a matching, minimalist charging case.

on-ear spots.
A retro-modern statement piece combining sleek gray metallic telescope extensions with soft, plush on-ear pads in radiant ponkt.-yellow. The headphones are completed by a round, head-shaped docking station wrapped in finely perforated speaker mesh. This station serves as a stationary sound hub and features glowing induction notches for wireless charging. The control concept is entirely hybrid: while tracking and radio station switching are executed physically via the headphones themselves, volume and deep-dive customizations are managed through a dedicated, minimalist smartphone application.

smartphone application
To unify the entire hardware ecosystem, a mobile application serves as the centralized digital control center for both headphone concepts. The interface bridges the gap between hardware and software by expanding the physical limitations of the devices while maintaining the studio’s clean aesthetic.
